If you want to feel older than you did a couple of minutes ago, and a little more confused, read on.
The Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary has released a short-list of the 150 or so new words added to the 2014 edition — words that meant nothing in 2013 — and still don’t for any of us over, say, 40.
There’s “Yooper,” which apparently is a name for upper-peninsula Michigan folks. We think we were here first, and “Minorcan” should have a more St. Augustine-centric definition than “Of or relating to Minorca or its inhabitants.”
