In a sweeping initiative to curb pollutants blamed for global warming that will carry implications around the country and for JEA, the Obama administration unveiled a plan Monday to cut carbon dioxide emissions from power plants by nearly a third over the next 15 years.
The plan moves the deadline for state compliance until after President Barack Obama leaves office in early 2017, and for now the local impacts of the move will not be clear until JEA can closely evaluate the 645-page rule.
