Boaters, picnickers, horseshoe-throwers and dog-walkers around Crescent Beach are understandably irked about the closing of the Butler park and boat ramp.
The park has been turned over, by the county, to a contractor hired to dredge the canals of Treasure Beach.
Here’s the short version.
Treasure Beach is a development built in the early 1970s around a system of canals. Even though there is some tidal flow in and out, the canals silt in. This became a real problem nearly 20 years ago.
