It was 50 years ago that State Attorney Dan Warren and County Judge Charles Mathis wrangled with the legal issues of the civil rights demonstrations in St. Augustine.
And it was less than two weeks ago that their sons found themselves on opposite sides of a case in circuit court in St. Johns County.
Assistant State Attorney Robert Mathis was one of the prosecutors in the first-degree murder trial of Candace Kiara Jackson. The lead defense attorney was Raymond Warren of the public defenderís office.
