SAN FRANCISCO — Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants no-hit the San Diego Padres on Wednesday in a 4-0 victory at AT&T Park.
It was the second time in less than a year that the veteran right-hander had blanked the Padres on no hits. The last gem came on July 13.
Lincecum retired the side in order in the ninth inning. Lead-off hitter Will Veneble made the last out on a grounder to second base.
A walk to Chase Headley in the second inning was all that separated Lincecum from a perfect game. He struck out six.
