What irony, that Thomas Sowell would write a column (Aug. 7: “Is thinking really obsolete?”) about how others don’t think well. His examples? That criticism of Israel’s killing of civilians in Gaza exemplifies our “post-thinking” era, and that proposals to increase the minimum wage likewise reveal bad or absent thinking.
In fact, genuine critical thought will reveal Sowell’s own thinking so weak as to be absent altogether.
