DEAR DR. ROACH: You recently wrote that you do not recommend healthy people take supplements. What about training athletes? I’m thinking creatine for weightlifters, coenzyme Q-10 and B vitamins for endurance sports. I also have read newspaper reports citing vitamin D deficiency as “epidemic” in the general populace. For someone training one to two hours per day, is diet sufficient? Could supplements help? — C.G.
