JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville City Council has agreed to allow an historic U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer to be moored on the banks of the St. Johns River, where it will be used as a maritime museum.
The Florida Times-Union reports that the council voted 16-1 to allow the Downtown Investment Authority to move the USS Adams to town.
The ship will be moored by the vacant Maxwell House plant.
