Bryce Bogert, a freshman at St. Augustine, was selected as one of just 20 Americans that travel to the World Cup in Gotenborg, Sweden to compete in this weekend’s Cadet European Fencing Circuit.
Bogert, 14, is the youngest epee fencer selected to represent the United States.
Bogert began fencing at age 6, and is currently ranked No. 10 in his division. At last weekend’s North American Cup in Virginia Beach, Bogert finished 31st in a field of 180 competitors.
That was his first juniors event, which was occupied by mostly college-aged fencers.
