Michael David Dunn will have a new lawyer paid for by the taxpayers when he is retried on a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis.
On Monday, attorney Cory Strolla withdrew because Dunn is broke and can no longer pay him. Waffa Hanania, with the Office of Regional Conflict Counsel, was appointed as Dunn’s new lawyer after the State Attorney’s Office objected to the public defender taking over.
