The St. Johns County Commission on Tuesday approved sending a letter to Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown to oppose his idea of funding that cityís police and fire pension with JEA money.
According to County Attorney Patrick McCormack, the Nassau County Commission will consider passage of drafting a similar letter today.
Published news reports over the past few days said the city is weighing the idea of asking JEA for $40 million a year to help the cityís pension fund.
