Two St. Johns County deputies shot a man after a domestic disturbance call Tuesday as the man was reaching under a bed where they believed weapons were stored.
The man, Abbott Scott Bennett, 66, died at the scene.
The deputies involved in the shooting were Cpl. Kevin Kier and Deputy Charles Simpkiss. The third deputy at the scene was Casey Romein.
Simpkiss has seven years of service, and Kier has 13 years of service. Romein, who fired the Taser, has more than one year of service. The deputies have not been involved in other shootings.
