DOSWELL, Va. — A women’s basketball coach at the University of Richmond was among the three feared dead after Friday’s hot air balloon crash, a relative confirmed Saturday.
Associate head coach Ginny Doyle, 44, was one of the three, Doyle’s sister said in a brief telephone interview from her home in Pennsylvania. The sister, who declined to give her name, said she was told that another member of the Spiders’ coaching staff was also on board.
Doyle, a former Richmond player who had been on the staff for 16 seasons, tweeted about her balloon flight Friday.
