okay so out of the 13 of us who voted Grin, AT&T has the most votes.....what do we win??? Huh I was really hoping that MORE people would have voted and then maybe our votes would have mattered to AT&T and the rest of the companies and MAYBE, just maybe, they would consider moving a tower closer so we could actually get signal instead of roaming the street or the yard to get signal....

personally I think it's a conspiracy to keep us all land phone bound............SIGH  Embarrassed

Haha  This reminds me of the time I called Cingular a little over a year ago when my parents first moved to FE. We hated paying for phones we couldn't get signals for, so we decided to give them a polite, informational call to let them know about the service, or lack thereof.

I got this snotty customer service rep who basically said, "Well, we have towers all around you, so..." In other words, "we have no intention of helping you out anytime soon!"

So, I guess we have to wait until we have enough residents (paying customers) to make it worth their while to put up a tower. haha  Sorry, everyone!

Just a thought,  the Cell Companies are pretty powerful.  Perhaps if somehow they could be introduced to idea of being the first to develop in the Flagler side of FE.  I know there are so many issues with that area, but since no one can homestead down there, maybe just maybe there might be an audience for a cell company (any one will do) to sway Flagler County into allowing 'just one little tower' wink-wink.  In this day of every municipal authority looking for anyway to increase revenue, you might think someone would have 'thunk this up' by now.

Oh well, what do I know?  Sometimes I think to much!

AT & T   We're on E Deep Creek, if we walk down the driveway 10 feet before we reach the road, we get service. And, only if we stand there long enough.......Otherwise, we have to wait til we're on 207 or 204........Oh, and it rings in the house, but we have no reception to answer it.......At least we can see who's calling and call back from the landline.

How do towers work... Does one carrier pay and then all carriers benefit or does one carrier pay and then you MUST use them or it won't matter to you if you do not have THAT carrier?
Or do a few carriers pay and the majority benefits?

So the trac phone works every where in FE no problems? Always have "bars" never disconnects?

Where can everyone get these? If they are pay as you go this could be purchased as an FE phone only.

How much do they charge for how many minutes?

I honestly don't know where it works much beyond my house, which is on Isom.  But it works just fine here.  Four bars, enough to talk with static or it breaking up.
