Yes and when the county comes in here they will  start deed restrictions,  no more old cars not working  in your yards, only 2 dogs    , no more working on your cars and trucks in your yard  and no changeing oil in your driveways.   And no more yard trash.  This will be another Shores.  I lived in St Augustine for 20 years  I know what the county does and don't do.   If you want someone in your everyday life checking everything you do than bring in the county. cause thats what will happen.  I moved out here to get away from all that .  I've been here 4 years now in FE  owned the land for 15 years and the last thing I want to see out here is a nosey  county worker.

i would like 2  think we added some color by now

i would think u have 2 ask hastings residents, how much their taxes went up ( i believe the repairs come out of the county general fund ) and a  9% reduction last year

although  we cannot borrow the 21 mil, i think our max is about 9 to 11, so u probable have 2 go into the secondary markets 4 financing

just think if we had the money from phase 1 paving (knowing all your options)

the option wasn't against any1 party, it was an option for landowners (the bos and some of the district staff live here)

i hadn't put a calculator to anything, but i just got done reviewing the budget so the figures should b close

at some point in the future it may make $cents for all of us to check our options.

spreading the costs to all sjc residents by way of the general fund, not the work that some do is sub-par or they will destroy us, it will take all of us working together, knowing what we want and setting goals

we can fix our foundation.(drainage infrastructure) i can live with
i cant c us just standing idol though when money is so cheap or increasing the size of government in any form out here

most deed restritions are set by home owners associations and developers, although we were open rural when we bought in st aug south so there is a chance of the county changing us 2 residential which is a double-edged sword. some downfalls but land prices would go up. the 2 lots we purchased for $9000 went to $20,000. gave us enough equity 2 build my first house, took me and my buddies 8 months.to late 2 have horses but we did homestead and locked into that 3% increase per year.

hadnt been there in a while, but as of 8 yrs ago some of my old neighbors still had horses

so that $27,000 house is worth about $180,000 (per zillow.com) and the tax load today would b about $450 a yr + any ad-v's if we still owned it  (where do u see F.E taxes in 15 yrs?)

most of the current residents wouldnt see a change cause of the grand-father laws. which still today allow us 2 put mobil homes on under 10 acre tracks of land

I personally do not want to see the county in here, but would very much like to see some oversite for the sake of all of us.  When we attempted to discuss our concerns the board has told us many times that we are not the only people that live here.  The assessments are determined in May of each year, the budget is set in September of each year.

We all know that not everyone is going to be happy with everything.  A suggestion was made for the board and staff to create a survey of some of the ideas and input from all the landowners .  The survey would have to state specifically things from the input and suggestions of the landowners on a yearly basis, it would also need to specifically state how much money overall and how much it would increase the assessment  in May and send it out after the budget meetings.  This would allow an entire 9 months to review the data and make an informed decision.  One of the board members complained about the cost to mail this information to every landowner, yet they had just mailed the

i guess the general theme 2 my story was 2 know most or all our options, not 1 way or the other

Operating and maintenance is just that......operating and maintenance!  Maintaining what you currently have! Not improving it, not fixing it.......nothing, just maintaining it.  After reading all of these post I felt the need to clarify "OPERATING & MAINTENANCE"

Is not "fixing it" and maintaining it the same thing?

Even a child knows that typing all in caps is the same as yelling and considered extremely rude.  Some people simply should not be allowed to use a computer. This is a public forum, note the term "public".  Perhaps if you wish to talk to your 'friends' you should use your phone.

Pleeman why do you feel such a need to protect CDAS?Huh? She made some pretty detrimental posts about the FECC members INFESTING the CRC. Are you protecting her because her husband is President of the BOS?Huh?
I have them all in a folder for anyone who wants to see.

The situation I posted earlier on this post regarding Palatka and Kirchherr, absolutely pertained to washout.  Now if due to the situation or any other reason a car hit the guard rail before or after the washout I personally have no knowledge of that, and was specifically referring to the washout problem.  There are pictures on the Flagler Estates Concerned Citizens site.

The county is not responsible for Flagler Estates in general with the exception of part of Flagler Estates Blvd and Kirchherr (I think up to Melanie, not sure exactly), and had no part in the CIP at that location.  If you still are not comfortable with who maintains this, please feel free to call the district office and ask them who maintains that intersection.  If I am wrong, I would welcome clarification.
